Hidden gem ... Off the beaten path!
I am this semi competitve food regimen ...
The have nutrient dense items like
      Kale.  Spinach.  Tomato.   Broccoli
Very fresh veggie ... I see no lemish
The 29 Sunset or Mission bus brings u out here.
Parking on Mission St can sometimes fustrating.
Kale was not bitter and was tender in a nice dressing that the vinegar was nice and light.
The broccoli was dressed in buttermilk dressing

I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich through Doordash and the description did not say it had mustard and mayo on it the description let alone drenched (top and bottom pieces) in it... The description said Chicken Breast with fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil, salt, pepper & olive on ciabatta..  I tried wiping the mayo and mustard off the roll,  tomato and the basil but there was so much on it I just threw the bread away.  I decided to just eat the chicken breast which, was grizzly and tough to chew in areas so I dumped the whole thing.  I could have just caught the restaurant on a bad day but it was a total waste of money for me.

The menu on the restaurant website states "all sandwiches include mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, jalapeno, peppercini" which, I can tell you I did not receive many of those (thankfully).

I ordered a salad sandwich combo he looked me in the eyes and asked what bread what meat I said TURKEY NO TOMATOES. THINKING he gave me the right food I saved the sandwich for LATER IN MY CAR and come time to eat he gives me a chicken salad sandwich with jalapenos WHO WANTS A WARM CHICKEN SALAD SANDWICH WITH JALAPENOS. Not me!! I won't be going back because he looked me in the eyes, repeated my order, and STILL got my order wrong. Waste of $18

I live a block from the Salad Place, but never tried it. I finally did so for lunch on a Saturday and I regret not going sooner.

I placed my order at the counter, but realized I forgot my wallet at home. The man at the counter was super understanding and let me run back to grab it. By the time I got back - with my wallet! - he was already 1/2 way done prepping my meal. I was blown away by the amount of trust and great service. He had no idea if I was actually going to come back, but in the event that I did, he still wanted to make sure my food was ready.

I saw him prepare the rest of the food while I was there. He piled on the ceviche. 3 HUGE scoops. He asked if I wanted feta for the Greek salad, which I declined.

While I was paying, we made friendly banter and I noted that I was going to eat it here, but glad he put it in a to-go box because there was no way I was going to finish! He joked back "Really? No, this is just a snack!"

    Anyway, onto the food:

Greens - I was expecting the bed of greens to just be romaine, but I was pleasantly surprised to find spinach and red cabbage, too. The greens are not tossed in dressing.

Greek - this was my least favorite. It was pretty bland, not much flavor. It came with thick, half-moon cucumber slices, halved cherry tomatoes, and olives. It didn't seem to be marinated in anything.

Pesto tortellini - SO good! The tortellini is stuffed with cheese and coated in a mild pesto.

Kale salad - Shredded kale and carrot tossed in a super zesty, tangy dressing. I really enjoyed this!

Ceviche - Shrimp marinated in lime, red onion, and tomato, topped with cilantro. My favorite salad. The shrimp was tender and fresh. The lime and cilantro gave it a bright flavor.

I ended up eating most of the greens, some salad for lunch. I still had about 1/2 of the salads left for dinner, so I threw some of my own greens in and made 2 meals out of it.

I'll definitely be coming back to try the other salads!

My daughter-in-law took me to this restaurant that she frequents with my son, and I loved it! Portions are big, we got it in to-go boxes knowing we'll need it ! The server (think he's the owner?) was soooo helpful and friendly! We both got the Salad Platter (greens, then you top it with 4 choice items).  I'm pescatarian so I was delighted to see so many vegetarian dishes on the menu, and seafood. Please check the menu which is huge! Yes many dishes for you meat eaters out there also! I would definitely go back to try other dishes and their coffees which I did not order because I had met my quota already on caffeine.
